Jennifer Baumgold, LCSW

Jennifer Baumgold has over 10 years of clinical experience and earned her Master in Social Work degree at Hunter College in Manhattan.  She began her career working for the New York City Fire Department in the Counseling Service Unit.  With the FDNY, she honed her clinical skills treating a multitude of mental health issues including Post Traumatic Sress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Bereavement and Grief, Traumatic Loss, and Anger Management.  She also works extensively with clients coping with traumatic life events such as divorce, infertility, perinatal loss, and chronic illness as well as transitional life stages such as parenthood, college, retirement and aging. In addition to individual therapy, she works with couples and has facilitated therapy groups focusing on support for divorce, trauma, and anger management. 

Jennifer’s belief that the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in successful therapy informs her  practice on every level.   Connecting with clients and establishing a safe therapeutic  environment is paramount to her work.    Clinical areas of interest include the impact of nutrition and physical wellness on mental health, post-partum depression and adjustment issues, and adjustment to retirement and aging.
